What was expected to be the highest-performing album of the week will likely have the greatest first week of the entire year. Drake’s Scorpion was long regarded as the front-runner for what would be the best selling album of the year and considering its first week numbers, it will likely get there easily. That is unless Taylor Swift or Adele drop an album in the next six months and give him some competition. Some reports had projections for the album reaching as high as one million units moved over the weekend and while 749K units moved is nothing to scoff at, it is less than what was expected for Drizzy.
